Rather than following a predetermined routine, every session is thoughtfully designed around your senior companion's unique personality, physical abilities, emotional wellbeing, energy level, interests, and changing needs. Within the comfort of their home, we create purposeful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, cognitive engagement, emotional balance, and deep mutual trust.
 

As dogs move through their senior years, the way they experience and engage with the world may begin to change. Energy and mobility may shift, vision or hearing may decline, confidence may fluctuate, and activities they once enjoyed may need to be approached differently. Our enrichment evolves alongside them, meeting your dog where they are today while continuing to create meaningful opportunities to think, explore, move, connect, and simply enjoy being a dog.

Every Grala Enrichment Experience Session follows the same thoughtful process while remaining completely individualized to your senior dog's needs. Rather than following a rigid schedule, every visit naturally unfolds through four Core Enrichment Approaches designed to adapt to your dog's abilities, interests, energy, comfort, and needs that day.

Connection & Assessment
​Every meaningful session begins by slowing down.

Before introducing activities, we reconnect with your senior dog at their own pace, observing body language, mobility, emotional state, confidence, energy, and interests. These quiet moments help us understand how your companion is feeling and functioning that day, so every activity that follows is intentionally chosen—not simply preplanned.

Primary Enrichment Experience
The heart of every Grala session.

Using what we've learned during Connection & Assessment, we create an individualized enrichment experience that encourages natural behaviors, stimulates the mind, builds confidence, supports mobility & comfortable movement, and nurtures emotional wellbeing.

Depending on your senior dog's needs, this may include scent work, interactive enrichment games, confidence-building exercises, gentle movement, sensory exploration, problem-solving activities, or calming experiences—all thoughtfully selected to support both body and mind while allowing your aging companion to think, explore, engage, and simply enjoy being a dog.
 

Complementary Experiences
Thoughtfully chosen to enrich the whole experience.

Because senior dogs continue to benefit from variety, curiosity, and meaningful engagement, we may incorporate additional enrichment that naturally complements the Primary Enrichment Experience.

These thoughtfully chosen activities encourage exploration, sensory engagement, confidence, gentle movement, connection, or simple enjoyment while allowing us to follow your dog's interests and energy as the session unfolds.

Depending on your dog's needs that day, this might include additional scent work, sensory exploration, problem-solving games, gentle movement, calming enrichment, or quiet moments of observation and connection. 

Together, these experiences create a varied and meaningful session without asking your senior dog to do more than feels right for them that day.
 

Rest & Recover
Every session ends just as intentionally as it began.

Rather than rushing out the door, we allow time for your companion to decompress, settle, and enjoy quiet companionship before we leave. Gentle affection (when welcomed), calming enrichment, peaceful observation, or simply sharing a quiet moment helps create a positive ending that reinforces trust, emotional security, and lasting comfort.
